Our robes are kimono-style wraps in 100% cotton cambric, hand block-printed by artisans in Sanganer, near Jaipur, using azo-free dyes. They come knee-length or long, with 3/4 sleeves, two deep side pockets, and a tie belt held in place by side loops. Light enough for a warm morning, easy enough to throw on and forget. Every print is named for a real woman, and each is made in small batches, so no two runs are quite alike.
Are cotton robes good for warm weather?
Yes. Cotton cambric is a fine, lightweight weave that breathes and doesn't cling — comfortable on warm mornings, after a shower, or as a cover-up by the pool.
How long are the robes?
Two lengths: knee-length (39.5") and long (47"). Each robe's page notes which it is.
How do the sizes fit?
Robes come in S/M and L/XL. The open wrap front and adjustable tie mean they sit comfortably across a range of sizes. Our Fit Guide has full measurements.
How do I care for a hand block-printed robe?
Machine wash cold with like colors. The cotton is pre-washed and pre-shrunk, and softens with every wash. Small variations in the print are the mark of the artisan's hand, not flaws.
What is hand block printing?
Artisans carve a pattern into wooden blocks, dip them in dye, and press them onto cloth by hand, one impression at a time. It's a centuries-old craft in Sanganer, where our fabrics are printed. Read more: What is hand block printing?
